Science fiction is famous for the inclusion of the Token Black Guy. Uhura in Star Trek, Geordie LaForge in ST:TNG, Lando Calrissian in Star Wars, etc. etc. Even aliens have the same issue, apparently.

I designed the Risenpeter sets to be modular, so I can take components out of them to make for different rooms as needed.
The Redshirt in the last panel was behind the controls of the transporter in the first three panels. I didn’t realize he wasn’t visible until I had all the pics already shot and the set pieces put away.
