All the current members of the S-Team are in these four panels, as well as some characters which I will explore more later.
Our first introduction to Charlie, Silverstein’s assistant. He’s got a lot more on the ball than his boss. He is almost never without his trusty clipboard. If you look closely, you’ll see the edge of the cardboard box in which I placed the set for light isolation purposes. It was sloppy of me, and that’s something I’ve worked hard to rectify over time. You can see the improvement in post-production already from my earlier pieces.
The “silent” panel is a device that Charles Schulz used frequently. It’s the part where one character says something patently ridiculous and the other character mulls it over for a panel before providing a choice bit of (hopefully funny) wisdom.
I created the S-Team originally for my Just Cause novel as a group of misfit heroes that got involved in a large-scale battle. They became such interesting characters to me that I thought I might write a novel about them (and I still might). But in the meantime, I have this to keep me happy (and all of you, I hope!).
