Ever been to a restaurant with cuisine that’s completely unfamiliar to you? Imagine the confusion to someone who’s never eaten, say, Mexican food before. “What’s a burrito?” [just play along, okay?] “Well, it’s meat, beans, cheese, vegetables, and chili wrapped up in a tortilla.” “Okay, what’s a taco?” “It’s meat, beans, cheese, vegetables, and chili wrapped up in a tortilla.” “So they’re the same then?” “No, they’re totally different.”
Obviously, it can be difficult to order when you really don’t know what you’re getting. Stonewall is in the same boat.
This strip feels like an Abbott and Costello routine, with sort of a “Who’s on First” kind of humor.
The Sushi restaurant is the first new set I’ve built for the strip in a long time. And as far as the French jokes…sooner or later you’ve got to include some jokes at the French’s expense. One of the best at this is the strip Get Fuzzy.
