Friends and readers,
I’ve already announced this on Facebook, Twitter, and the BCN Forums, but had yet to announce it here.
The Adventures of the S-Team will be ending with strip #1500, early in February of 2012.
This was not an easy decision to come to, but I’ve decided it would be best to wrap up the strip and allow it to come to a natural ending point rather than just going on an indefinite and eventual infinite hiatus. The truth is that after 1400+ strips, appearing every weekday for more than five years, I’m ready to stop telling the stories about the S-Team and their supporting cast. I’ve been asked if I have another LEGO webcomic in the works, and at this time I have nothing planned. It’s possible I will come back someday and revisit the crew of the Risenpeter, but it’s equally likely that the webcomic chapter of my creative life has come to its own natural conclusion. I’m focusing a lot more of my efforts on publishing my fiction, which is available on Smashwords, Amazon.com, Barnes&Noble.com, the Apple iBookstore, and in numerous secondary retailers (Kobo, Diesel, Sony, etc.). I also have the first novel in a superhero series coming out in December from New Babel Books, and I always knew that at some point I was going to have to decide where my time and efforts needed to be focused. My ebooks and print books are money-makers for me, whereas the webcomic has been chiefly a labor of love. If you want to see another webcomic from me at some point in the future, my best suggestion is to support my other writing by purchasing ebook or print book editions of my work, posting reviews of it, and recommending it to your friends and family. By earning enough with my other work, it may mean I can free up more time to do another “for fun” instead of “for profit” project.
Thanks to all of you for supporting The Adventures of the S-Team and I promise to wrap it all up in the style and humor to which you’ve all grown accustomed.
