Everyone seems to be forgetting that it wasn’t Slick’s choice to be abducted. Although I’m sure he didn’t miss monitor duty.
And so we come to the end of another edition of Cross Circuits. Expect to see it back again sometime in the future. Hope you enjoyed the latest installment.
I have to dig at George Lucas a little, because the first three Star Wars movies (meaning Chapters 4, 5, and 6) were great. And the latter three (Chapters 1, 2, and 3) weren’t very good in my opinion. The Battle Droids were lame, but even THEY looked like Shaft next to Jar Jar Binks.
Seriously, some things can never be apologized for sufficiently.
When Hollywood B- and C- (and Z-) list stars need some screen time, they go on the Hollywood Squares game show. It stands to reason that out-of-work robots need someplace to go as well, and Cross Circuits is it.
I first saw this “word from our sponsor” joke in a Garfield strip. This is my own take on the same idea. The cheerful fellow holding up the…thing…and the frog are also guest stars from the Brick House – in this case, Whiskey and Scotch. I also think the word prong is funny.
