It’s Labor Day here in the U.S., so I’m updating late because I slept in. Nurse Ballpeen is a spoof of Nurse Ratched (Ratchet) from the book (and film) One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest.
Every once in awhile, I accidentally hit the perfect shot angle. The expression on Stretch’s face in panel 4 is a good example. Obviously his expression never changes, but the shot angle seems to give him the perfect look of sardonic sarcasm. “Thank you, Captain Obvious” is often spoken in my house when someone says something dimwitted like Slick.
I thought instead of just showing a boring superhero battle, it’d be more fun to show the end result. That’s Silence hanging out of the hole in the wall in case you weren’t sure. I borrowed this joke from an Alan Dean Foster book called Paths of the Perambulator where one of the characters deftly avoids a major battle because he has to take a long leak. He got pounded on by his allies as well.
If you’re thinking the S-Team may be out of their league with the Chuckie Monster, you may be right. I never thought that the first time I ever built a LEGO sphere would be for a prop in this webcomic, but then life is full of firsts. “Run away! Run away!” is from Monty Python and the Holy Grail.
