The Scrubs cast often goofs off in ways similar to this. The transparent effect in the last panel was achieved using the free, open-source software called GIMP, which I may start using for all my special effects shots because of how easy it is to use and how good it makes things look.

Lots and lots of references in this one, so let’s take it from the top.
- Elliot’s reference to flashing her boobs comes from an early Season 1 episode of Scrubs where someone suggests she does exactly that to get a patient out of a coma … and it works, leading her to believe she has the gift of boob magic.
- The Very Expensive Machine That Goes Ping comes from a Monty Python sketch set in a hospital.
- Shaving his beard and drawing a smiley face on his bald head actually refers to AST #612 (super self-referential powers!)
- The doctor going to her bunk comes from the late, oft-bereaved show Firefly. If you’ve seen the show, you know what it means. If you haven’t, you probably ought to.

Scrubs is an American comedy show which I’ve always found to be very entertaining. Its absurdity is right on par with that of the S-Team. I knew from the moment I sent Tyrant to the hospital I would have the Scrubs cast get involved in his treatment somehow.
